Multiple Teams · Trojan Wrestling Week 2

West Central Wrestling Week #2

The Trojan wrestlers hosted the Frontier Falcons in the Trojans first home meet of the season. The wrestlers were fired up and ready to go and we came away with a good win 56-12.

The wrestlers traveled to Winamac on Saturday, December 3rd for the Winamac Super Eight Invite. The teams participating were, Caston, Clinton Prairie, Culver Military Academy, Frontier, Mississinewa, Triton, Winamac, and West Central.

We started out the day with Hoosier North Athletic Conference (HNAC) foe Triton. We started out the match neck and neck with them, with us being up by one point five matches in. Then they were able to win eight out of the next nine matches, with four of those wins being forfeits. The (other) Trojans won 54-19.

The next team up was HNAC opponents the Caston Comets. We jumped out to a big lead of 36-9 before the Comets, came back to within 9 points of us with two matches left to go. We traded pins to come away with the win 42-33.

As always we were really looking forward to wrestling our cross-county rivals, and HNAC opponents the Winamac Warriors. We jumped out to a 30-0 lead before the Warriors were able to put up a couple pins, and also a couple forfeits to close the gap to 30-24. We won the last three matches put away the meet and win 42-24.

The next meet of the day was with Culver Military Academy. We jumped out to a 6-0 lead with a pin by Dalton Sizemore. The Eagles won the next ten matches to put the score at 60-6. Kirk Bushong was able to pick up a win in the last match to bring the score to 60-8.

The last meet of the day was with Clinton Prairie. The second match of the meet Brice Shepperd got a tech fall to bring the score to us being down by only one point. The Gophers won the next six matches to jump out to a 36-5 lead. We then went on to win three out of the last four matches, but we fell short and the Gophers won 48-23. With the loss that put us into 4th place for the day.

We ended the week with a 3-3 team record, putting our season record at 6-10. The wrestlers will travel to Rensselaer for the Rensselaer High School Super Duals on December 10th starting at 9:00AM EST.
