West Central High School
The Trojans had their home opener against the Redskins from Knox in week 2 of the football season. The Redskins boasted a 1-0 mark entering the contest. In the first quarter of action, the Trojans were able to force a fumble on the Redskins first possession of the game. After a Trojan punt the Redskins took the ball down the field for a touchdown and a 7-0 lead. On the next possession the Trojans were able to move the ball, but were forced to punt the ball away. The Trojan defense stepped up and forced the Redskins to punt on their next possession as well. The first quarter ended with the Redskins up 7-0
In the second quarter the Trojans got inside the 20, but were unable to get any points. During the second quarter the Redskins were able to score 3 times and took a 4 score lead into the half.
In the second half, the Trojans came out and played hard. The Redskins were able to add another score in the third quarter and lead 33-0 after three quarters of action. At the end of the third quarter the Trojans started a drive that began on their own 2 yard line. During the fourth quarter the Trojans were able to finish off the drive making the score 34-8.
Knox took their next possession and went down the field to score again making the score 41-8. On the Trojans last possession, the younger guys took the field and were able to make a good drive. The Trojans threw for the end zone on the final play of the game, but the pass fell incomplete. The Trojans are now 0-2.
