In week 3 of action, the Trojans traveled to take on the Tri-County Cavaliers. The Cavaliers wasted little time in the first quarter and were up 6-0 a minute and half into the game. The Trojans first possession saw them unable to move the ball and they punted to the ball away. The Cavaliers once again moved the ball down the field and took a 12-0 lead. On the Trojans next possession, on 3rd and 9 Brayden Kletz connected with Cameron Pratt for a 79 yard touchdown. The Trojans were successful on the 2 point conversion making the score 12-8. The Cavaliers would go on to tack on another 2 touchdowns in the first quarter making the score 25-8.
In the second quarter the Trojans calmed down and started to play better on both sides of the ball. During the quarter the Trojans forced a couple of fourth down stops on defense and the offense began moving the ball. The Trojans were able to score in the last 40 seconds of the half when Kletz once again connected with Pratt for a 29 yard touchdown. The half closed with the Trojans down 25-14.
The Trojans received the ball to start the third quarter. The offense continued from were they left off to finish the first half. The offense drove the ball down the field in a 7 minute drive, that was capped off by Ethan Whites 1 yard touchdown run. The 2 point conversion was successful, making the score 25-22. On the next possession Tri-County took the ball down field and scored another touchdown making the score 32-22. In the closing minute of the third quarter, Brayden Kletz pitched the ball on an option play to Dalton Sizemore who ran 53 yards down the left side of the formation. The third quarter ended with the score 32-22 in favor of Tri-County, but the Trojans were threatening with the ball inside the 10 yard line to start the fourth quarter.
The Trojans were unable to capitalize on the field position and did not convert on fourth down. On the following possession the Trojans forced Tri-County to punt, but where unable to do anything with the ball and punted the ball right back to the Cavaliers. The Cavaliers took that possession and were able to run out a majority of the clock, finally scoring with 90 seconds remaining making the final score 39-22.
