Game Recap

The West Central Trojans visited the North Newton Spartans in week five of the football season. The opening quarter started with the Trojans receiving the ball and marching down the field and into the red zone. The drive was highlighted by Collin Fritz’s 30 yard run. The drive however failed to produce any points. The Spartans took position, and three plays later they were in the endzone making it 6-0, which served as the score at the end of the first quarter.

In the second quarter the Trojans were unable to get much offense going and turned the ball over several times. The Spartans took advantage of these turnovers and turned them into points. In the second quarter the Spartans scored 28 points making the half time score 34-0.

In the third quarter the Spartans received the ball and fumbled on their first offensive snap. The Trojans were able to recover, however, they would half to punt the ball away. On the Spartans second position, they once again fumbled and the Trojans were able to recover. WIth this position the Trojans were able to find the endzone on Brayden Kletz’s 5 yard touchdown run. The Spartans answered back scoring a touchdown of their own, making the score 40-6 at the end of the third.

In the fourth quarter, Spartans were able to add another touchdown making the score 47-6. The Trojans were unable to answer the Spartan score, thus the 47-6 score served as the final.

Up next for the Trojans are the Bluejays from North Judson. This will be a home game and is also West Central’s Homecoming.
