The softball team improved its record to 7-5 with a DH sweep against North Judson on Saturday. The Trojans won the opener 12-4 behind home runs from Jillian Hauptli and Esaleigh Hauptli. Jillian, Esaleigh, Emma Nielsen, and Lily Williams all had 2 hits. The big blow of the game was Jillian’s 2nd inning grand slam that put the Trojans up 6-4 and they never looked back. The night cap was a nail bitter as the score remained 0-0 going into the bottom of the seventh. Jenna Patton led off the bottom half with a single and then with one out Jillian Hauptli hit a 2-1 pitch over the left field fence to give West Central the 2-0 walk-off win. Emily Pilarski got the victory pitching the complete game shutout striking out 9 and giving up only 3 hits. The defense was stellar all day as the Trojans only committed 2 errors on the day. Tonight the Trojans travel to MWC opponent South Newton for a 5:30pm start.
